the Coeur des Femmes bus arrives in Toulouse
After Cannes, Privas, La Rochelle and Pessac, the Coeur des Femmes bus arrives in Toulouse as part of the national campaign to prevent cardiovascular disease in women. The Bus will be installed from April 20 to 22, 2022, Borderouge metro station at Carré de la Maourine.
Cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of death among women, with 200 deaths per day, or 75,000 women per year, the equivalent of the population of a city like Cannes.
Yet with good prevention, 8 out of 10 women could be saved. Faced with this public health challenge and as part of the national campaign for the prevention of cardiovascular disease, the Cœur des Femmes bus will be set up in Toulouse for three days.
From Wednesday April 20 to Friday April 22, at the Carré de la Maourine, women could participate in free screenings, especially those who need it most: women in vulnerable situations.
They will thus be able to follow the stages of their screening and know the local health professionals involved in this cause.
Whether precariousness is financial, social or medical, it is an accelerator of the onset of illness and a brake on prevention. A study was carried out on 1065 women screened thanks to the bus in 2021, the finding is overwhelming: 90% of them presented at least two cardiovascular risk factors, synonymous with an inevitable entry into the disease in the medium or long term. Le Bus’ mission is to give these women the means to take care of their health.
