Diocesan Day back in attendance after two years of Corona
Innsbruck, April 20th, 2022 (KAP) The diocesan day and dies facultatis in the diocese of Innsbruck will take place again this year after two years of corona. As the diocese announced on Wednesday, the “Dies facultatis” on April 26 in the Innsbruck House of Encounters will deal with the current synodal process of the church.
Under the motto “Shape the future – live synodality”, the first stage of the path in the diocese of Innsbruck will be reflected in thematic lectures and discussions. In doing so, not only the experiences of practice should be linked with theological and philosophical concepts of community formation in order to make pastoral life of the church and scientific reflection for further progress. The organizers also hope that on this day synodality can be experienced as being on the move together.
The diocesan day and dies facultatis began at 2 p.m. with a service. Afterwards, the German Catholic theologian Martin Kirschner (Eichstätt-Ingolstadt) will speak about “Conflicts as a place of knowledge, synodality as the implementation of church community”, and the Innsbruck philosopher Katherine Dormandy will talk about “Differences of opinion as a challenge and enrichment”.
In the further course of the day, the interim results of the synodal process in the diocese of Innsbruck will be presented, among other things. The Innsbruck pastoral theologian Christian Bauer will speak about “Dare more synodality? Church reform as pastoral self-evangelization” before the diocesan day and dies facultis end with a panel discussion and encounters in small groups. (Information: www.uibk.ac.at)
