Death of a police officer in Prague: He was hit by a drunk driver. What did the experts say?

The official “octave” drove 80 km / h, from behind it the defendant crashed in a Mercedes at a speed of about 150 km / h. According to the expert, the impact accelerated the “Škoda” by almost 50 km / h in just 0.1 seconds to the final 129 km / h. The crew of the crashed car experienced an overload of 9 tons, which is equal to 11G. For a short moment, her body weighed 11 times more. “The driver in the police octavia had no chance to react,” the forensic expert thinks.

Wilderness on the road

An expert in the field confirmed that at the time of the accident, Jitka R. had about 2 per mille “under the skin”. The accident took place on 5 October Street in Prague. Witnesses who met a mad driver on the road were at risk. The defendant “flew” part of the road between the left and middle lanes. The cars had to dodge, 12 cars passed along the way, a total of 16 adults and 3 children were sitting in them. According to the expert, the driver does not seem to be slowing down the Mercedes.

Unlike the first expert, according to two other experts from the BUT Institute of Forensic Engineering, the defendant achieved in the last route speeds of about 20 kilometers per hour.

The driver and co-driver were reportedly strapped in, but the policeman was not in the back. They found no traces on the tracks of the belt, for example after burning. The belt wouldn’t help anything anyway. The collision scrapped the police car so that the policeman in the back had only about 25 centimeters left between his and the front seat. The rear wheel moved forward 1.6.

Injuries and belts

Officer Pavol, who was sitting in the back, had the most serious chest injury. According to two other experts-experts, the death was caused by a strangling and post-traumatic shock. The rapid movement of blood inside ruptured the heart’s aorta. Even if he had no other injuries, the aortic trauma itself would be life-threatening. “Death clearly occurred in connection with a car accident,” informs one of the experts.

Students celebrated the Japanese spring holiday Hanami. Technická Street was full of students.

The core of the quarrel

If they were according to the front belts, such ranges would not have to be injured, even if the belts protect especially in the event of a collision. “Death did occur in a few seconds. Within tens of seconds, “ adds one of the experts.

Rescue is very challenging in this case. A vascular prosthesis must be implanted in the aorta to bridge the hole. In order to be saved, he would only have to lie in the operating room and be best prepared for surgery.

However, according to the first traffic expert, the column at the left fender fired forward, so it would be better not to be confined. This is confirmed by another doctor in the courtroom. “Fastening with seat belts would not have a more serious effect on the injury in this particular case.” the court informs. “Maybe if he wasn’t strapped in and there were circumstances when he was thrown somewhere else, he could have a better chance of survival,” the expert concludes.

On May 5, a mass accident occurred on Sunday evening. Road traffic was temporarily closed in the direction from the center. Vaclav Burian
