Sugar Mizzy April 20, 2022

With Yannick Carrasco throughout the game, Atletico Madrid were held 0-0 at home by Granada on Wednesday as part of the 33rd day of the Spanish championship. In the standings, the Colchoneros remain second with 61 points, 14 less than Real Madrid. Relying on a reinforced midfielder, the people of Madrid launched the assault with Carrasco taken down by Quini, who was avoided (3rd). The Colchoneros kept the ball, but as they stayed quite far from the opposing goal, Granada used the clash well. Halfway through, the Andalusians finally came out a little more from their surface and managed to keep the Madrid block at a distance.

After the break, the Matelassiers interpreted the same scenario despite Luis Suarez’s rise to the game: they kept the ball but the sendings of Antoine Griezmann (49th) and Angel Correa (50th) did not worry Luis Maximiano . After a timid reaction from Luis Suarez, the Colombian striker from Granada (53rd), Atlético went forward but had to settle for corners, which came to nothing.

In France, AS Monaco of Philippe Clement a chained fifth victory in a row against Nice (1-0). During this important derby for Europe, Eliot Matazo remained on the bench among the visitors. After 33 days, Monaco (56 points, 4th) is ahead of Nice (54 points, 5th).

In the first period, the Assemists controlled events and caused a big missed opportunity by Wissam Ben Yedder (38th) before opening the scoring through Aleksandr Golovin (45th +2, 1-0). The second half resumed with a shot from Andy Delort captured in two stages by Alexander Nubel (49th). The Monegasque goalkeeper also had to be very attentive on a whim from the Algerian striker from Nice (66th). Despite everything, Monaco could have made the break by Ben Yedder, who stung the ball on the post (72nd).

Wout Faes and Maxime Busi, who were replaced by Thomas Foket (66th), started in Reims’ 2-1 victory over Lille. The Stadistes ended a series of four games without a win at home thanks to Marshall Munetsi, who opened the scoring following a free kick badly repelled by Leo Jardim (32nd, 1-0). The Dogues goalkeeper was still hot when a shot from Arber Zeneli hit the crossbar (54th). On the other hand, Predrag Rajkovic could not avoid the equalizer on the long shot in the top corner of Renato Sanches (56th, 1-1). Finally Yunis Abdelhamid offered the three points and probably the maintenance to the Champenois (90th + 2) In the standings, Lille (49 points) remains 9th and Reims (40 points) climbs to 12th position with 9 points ahead of Saint-Etienne , 18th and play-off.
