Warsaw. Jan Kobuszewski is the patron of the stage at the Kwadrat Theater
The Chamber Stage at the Kwadrat Theater was named after Jan Kobuszewski. Today, the actor would be celebrating his 88th birthday. He has been with Kwadrat for nearly 40 years.
Jan Kobuszewski was the foundation and good spirit of the Kwadrat Theater. Successive generations of actors learned the profession from him. Thank you, among others his efforts and talent, Teatr Kwadrat has gained the rank of the most popular stage in Poland. Wishing you the memory of this wonderful actor and his great contribution to the development of the Kwadrat Theater, the team will give him a new office and arrange the Chamber Stage near the city.
Kobuszewski joins the theater team in 1976 and remains there until the end of his stage career. The audience fell in love with him for the unforgettable role of Captain in “Ladies and Hussars” by Aleksander Fredro or Pantalon in “The Servant of Two Masters” by Carlo Goldoni. He also directed plays in Kwadrat, in the seasons 85/86 and 86/87 he was a program consultant.
The Chamber Stage at the Kwadrat Theater was established in 2016. Andrzej Nejman, after moving to the new headquarters of Marszałkowska 138 (former Bajka cinema), saw potential potential for a full-fledged stage in the director’s old website. The official launch of January was launched in 2017 with the premiere of the film “Mysteries”, the classic thrill of the Chamber Method for the Adaptation of Stephen King’s Novels, directed by Robert Gliński.
