surprise new installation by sculptor James Colomina
The Toulouse sculptor James Colomina, famous for his little red men installed without permission, is doing it again. He surprisingly installed a new work above the American Cosmograph cinema. A child holding a gun with a rose. A work for peace.
It pops up where you least expect it, with a social or political message and a committed work. It has become his trademark. Toulouse artist James Colomina has struck again, this time in his city. He has just installed a new work in red resin: a child holding a rifle with a rose coming out of the barrel.
This work represents a masked child holding a gun with a rose (…) to remind us that children are the first victims of armed conflicts and to defend peace.
James Colomina – sculptor artist
The work was installed without authorization during the night in an empty niche above the American Cosmograph cinema in Toulouse. A location that the artist had identified.
In December 2021, shortly before Christmas, James Colomina had notably installed near the Louvre museum in Paris a sculpture representing Eric Zemmour, decked out in a Santa Claus hat.
