Moscow. 19 April. Interfax – Russian cosmonauts Oleg Artemiev and Denis Matveev have achieved a spacewalk and returned to the International Space Station (ISS), Roscosmos reports.
“Roscosmos cosmonauts Oleg Artemiev and Denis Matveev have completed spacewalks under the Russian program. The exit hatch of the Poisk module was closed on April 19 at 00:37 Moscow time,” the state corporation said in a statement.
The astronauts tried in space for more than six hours. They installed and connected an external control panel for the ERA manipulator on the external surface module “Science”.
Also, Artemiev and Matveev dismantled covers with passive fasteners and installed a portable workstation adapter.
Departure yesterday at 18:01 Moscow time.
The self-contained relocatable manipulator ERA is part of the standard electromechanical maintenance facilities of the Nauka module. As a standard manipulator of the Russian segment of the station, it will seek and remove from a place on the surface of the station and monitor the state of the outer surface of the station, as well as remotely control the movement of astronauts at a portable workplace at the spacewalk.
