Rasmus Paludan: – Calculating and provocative
Chaos has ravaged in Rasmus Paludan’s footsteps through Sweden in recent days.
With its Koran-burning tour, the far-right Danish politicians have provoked major protests. These, in turn, have evolved to become both destructive and violent.
Policeman: – They wanted to kill
Sets choices in landing
Rasmus Paludan was born and raised in Denmark, but has a Swedish father and in 2020 was granted Swedish citizenship.
Paludan is therefore entitled to stand for election in both Sweden and Denmark, something he according to the newspaper Berlingske also intend to do.
The party Paludan represents, Tight course, is on another right side, and describes as extremely anti-Islamic.
– I fight daily to stand for election to the Folketing. I will continue to do so. But since I consider the Islamization of Sweden to be far more advanced than in Denmark, it is too much doubt that I must do Danish a great service by standing up in Sweden, Paludan has stated to BT
However, according to the head of the ModusA foundation, Nicolay Borchgrevink Johansen, Paludan’s Swedish tour is probably part of a carefully planned game:
– There is good reason to believe that he has traveled to Sweden partly because he has the opportunity to do so, but also because he has calculated that the effect of his provocations is greater than in Denmark, says Johansen to Dagbladet, and continues :
An educational circus in Danish politics
– He has used his recipe in Denmark, and he has also been prosecuted there. The circus number he has has had a major impact in Sweden and in Denmark.
Paludan has been prosecuted and convicted several times for a number of offenses, including several violations of the Danish racism clause.
– Gloss number
Burning and polluting Korans has been a frequently used tool by Paludan for years, and Johansen believes it is clear that Paludan has found a method he believes works:
– It’s become his highlight. He seeks out the places where the provocation has the greatest effect, says Johansen to Dagbladet.
It is also not the first time this year that Paludan has attracted attention in Sweden. In March, he was reported by the police in Gothenburg for hate speech, according to SVT. Also this in connection with Koran burning.
– Can not stand others’ mistakes
The now 40-year-old Paludan is initially a trained lawyer, and has previously been a practicing lawyer. By the end of his bachelor’s degree, he must have achieved the ninth highest grade point average among a cohort of 187 students, according to the policy.
However, the training was suspended due to injuries following a car accident in 2005. Among other things, Paludan suffered a brain injury in this accident which must have resulted in a «significant personality change», according to Extra Bladet.
The Director of Police: – Reprehensible
The politician himself must have stated this in connection with a criminal case from 2014, in which Paludan was charged with harassment by a police assistant in Gothenburg.
“It is difficult for him to deal with conflicts,” and “it is difficult for him to tolerate other people’s mistakes, without being severely frustrated,” it says in forensic psychiatric documents prepared in connection with the criminal case.
Four days of chaos
The end of the Easter week has been marked by the chaos that has followed Paludan’s demonstrations in Sweden.
For four days in a row, foreshadowed demonstrations by Paludan have led to huge riots, with devastation and violence ensuing.
On Thursday, a large number of people showed up to protest against Paludan’s planned burning of the Koran in Linköping and Norrköping. Among other things, this resulted in three police officers being sent to the hospital, and at least one police car was set on fire.
On Friday, the unrest spread to the Stockholm suburb of Rinkeby and Örebro. At the latter location, stone-throwing was reported with the police as the target, and warning shots were fired. Nine officers were injured as a result of the incidents, and in addition, a private individual was injured after receiving a stone in the head.
A police car must also have been stolen by protesters and at least three others were set on fire.
Violent riots – police officers to hospital
Was moved
On Saturday, the plan was for Paludan to continue burning the Koran in Landskrona in Skåne. However, this marking was moved to a rest area outside Malmö, and here too the mood was set.
Two cars are said to have been set on fire, and one car drove through the barricades the police had set up. A Danish journalist was also attacked during the riots.
It was also reported that the protesters must have had police officers as targets for aggressive actions, and a police officer Expressen was in contact with, stated about the protesters that «they would kill policemen».
On Sunday, it was reported that Paludan was to hold a new demonstration in Norrköping, but to Expressen, the police stated that they suspected that the Danish politician never intended to show up on the spot.
Nevertheless, riots followed in both Norrköping and Linköping which escalated throughout the evening.
As a result of the warning shot from the police, three people must have been hit by ricochets, and had to be transported to the hospital for treatment.
None of the three must be life-threateningly injured.
