One arrest and two searches in Portugal in the case of the drug plane on which João Loureiro traveled

The Judiciary Police detained a woman and carried out two house searches in Portugal as part of an operation carried out together with the Federal Police of Brazil on the drug plane that transported João Loureiro.

In two countries, communicated with the Federal Police of Brazil, participated in “Operação Descobrimento a PJ”, carried out simultaneously in the countries.

According to the PJ, the operation aimed to simultaneously comply, in Portugal and in Brazil, with several search warrants authorized within the scope of an ongoing investigation into international drug trafficking.

The PJ indicates that two searches were carried out in Portugal, one at a residence and the other at an office, with the aim of seizing documents, objects and values ​​related to the facts under investigation.

During the foreign operation, it was also a luxury from the city of Lisbon, a woman against whom an attention warrant with international competence was pending.

The PJ also stresses that in Brazil, 43 searches were carried out at homes and other places and people suspected of “being part of several and powerful criminal organizations that are dedicated to large sources in a vast amount of cocaine for Europe”.

The Judiciary Police also mentions that, last year, as part of this operation, more than 650 kilograms of cocaine had already been seized, which were detected in the fuselage of a Portuguese registration aircraft.

PJ and Brazilian police collaborate in searches and arrests

In a published note, the Brazilian Federal Police refers to two countries as “Operation Discovery” with the objective of dismantling a criminal organization specialized in the international trafficking of cocaine.

The Federal Police that was initiated in February 20 Falcon21, the plane that belonged to a private group of Salvador OMI, after taking place at the airport of Salvador, were found more than half a ton of cocaine hidden in the fuselage of the aircraft.

João Loureiro was on the flight carrying 500 kilos of cocaine

On January 27, 2021, the businessman and former president of Boavista João Loureiro took off from the Tires Municipal Aerodrome, in Cascais, heading to Brazil, having landed at the airport of Salvador, in the state of Bahia, and later, took off from Salvador to Jundiaí airport, in the State of São Paulo, where it was parked for about a week.

The Falcon 900 took off after Jundiaí and, during the flight, the commander of mechanical machines, having requested a rescue technique from the aircraft.

According to Omni’s flight manifest, to which Lusa had access, on the trip from Jundiaí to Salvador, carried out on February 6, 2021, businessmen João Loureiro and Mansur Herédia, of Spanish nationality, were on board as passengers. , whose whereabouts are uncertain.

In April last year, Brazilian authorities ruled out any connection by lawyer João Loureiro to the case of cocaine trafficking on a plane.
