Hermann Nitsch, a pioneer of Viennese Actionism, passed away last night at the age of 83. To give the news is his wife Rita, reporting that the artist has “fallen asleep peacefully”. Born on August 29, 1938 in Vienna, Nitsch had a very strong bond with Italy. In 2008 his friend and patron Giuseppe Morra entitled a museum to him in Naples. Nitsch was very active until the end.
