Astrakhan hosts the exhibition “Outstanding Artists from the Collection of the Russian Museum”
Dabout June 13 in the Astrakhan State Art Gallery. P.M. Dogadin, the exhibition “Outstanding Artists from the Collection of the State Russian Museum” is held. The exhibition will include more than 65 paintings by Ivan Kramskoy, Ilya Repin, Vasily Perov, Ivan Shishkin, Nikolai Yaroshenko, Grigory Myasoedov, Vladimir Makovsky, Alexei Savrasov and other members of one of the most influential art associations in Russia.
Members of the Association of Traveling Art Exhibitions sought to capture value truthfully. They wanted to bring art closer to the people, to make it accessible and accessible to contemporaries. It was thanks to the Wanderers that the theme of peasant life was realized in Russian painting. Ordinary peasants became the heroes of the paintings “The Miller” by Ivan Kramskoy, “Summer (with congratulations)” and “Sister” by Kirill Lemokh, which are presented in the exposition.
An important role in the work of the Wanderers was played by the genre painter Mikhail Klodt. The audience will see one of his ethnographic works — the historical and documentary painting The Black Bench, which was scrupulously discovered by a church court in Finland in the 19th century.
In the second half of the 19th century, he began to actively transport the Russian lyrical landscape. Artists sought to truthfully and figuratively reflect the changing states of nature. This is how the landscape-mood was born, the founder of which is considered to be Alexey Savrasov. The exhibition presents his paintings “Flood of the Volga near Yaroslavl”, as well as other works in this genre: “Beginning of Spring” by Ivan Endogurov, “Autumn” by Sergei Svetoslavsky, “Over the River” by Yefim Volkov.
The Wanderers calculate the picturesque gallery of contemporaries. Visitors to the exhibition will see the “Portrait of I.S. Turgenev” by Vasily Perov, “Portrait of S.P. Auerbach” by Nikolai Yaroshenko, as well as “Portrait of N.I. Pirogov” and “Portrait of V.V. Stasov” by Ilya Repin.
A significant part of the exhibition is devoted to the female image in the work of the Wanderers. So, in the Art Gallery. Dogadina presented the dramatic work “At the Brink of Bread” by Alexei Korzukhin, an artist from serfs, the everyday scene “The Chimney Cleaner” by Firs Zhuravlev, the magical action “The Sorceress (Bronze Age)” by Mikhail Klodt.
