Istanbul Children and Art Biennial, which will host 31 youth works since 2010 in Beşiktaş, will be held on 20 April at the Mustafa Kemal Center Contemporary Art Gallery at the Contemporary Art Center. In this year’s products, MKM Beşiktaş Çağdaş, Şehiral Hatları Ferries, Kadıköy and Beşiktaş pier squares will be held on April 20-May 22. During a month, 120 workshops, interviews, and famous names we will settle in will meet with children and people who will compete.
Organized by the Palet Culture, Art and Education Association, this year’s biennial was attended by important names such as Devrim Erbil, İsmail Acar, Güven Kıraç, Tülin Onat, Cem Özer, Süleyman Saim Tekcan, Emrahlak, Rajendra Kapse, Ketaki Pimpalkhare, Pelin Batu, Gür Akad, Naci Görür. Concept “Meeting Point”
This year’s advocacy for the 6th Istanbul Child and Youth Art Biennial has been determined as “Meeting Point”. The curator of the biennial, artistic originality, was selected for the first child curator application this year, together with Fırat Arapoğlu. The biennial, which attracted great interest in the application, will host 438 institutions and 5 thousand 391 children and young people from 35 provinces, workshops, talks and events. The biennial covers the disciplines of plastic arts, such as sculpture, ceramics, photography, film, new media, current practices and presentations, performances, video screenings, workshops, panels, conversations, literary meetings and concerts. Training, workshops, training and education programs related to these include meeting in a common language and developing trainings for the training of young students.
Mozart Award-Winning Ali Human at the Biennial
Among the miracles of the Biennial is Ali, the first foreigner to field 13 in Germany, who looks like Mozart. Ali Insan, born in 2006, will give a public concert in Kadıköy Square as part of the biennial. Ali Insan, who was originally from Malatya and immigrated to Germany in 1996, won the first place in 2019 in the Jugend Muzisiert competition of the German Ministry of Culture. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was the first to buy the right from foreigners for his successful performance of Mozart’s Voi Che Sapete in the same year.

Jury of Experts in Their Fields
At the 6th Istanbul Children and Youth Art Biennial, in more than 8 thousand places, Ahval Ateş, Noshid Mirzaei, Alev Cınbarcı, Fazilet Balcı, Delal Kazıcı, Esra Çelikkanat, Gül Çetin, Gözde Tito, Nur Bardakçı, Oya Mete Yener and Özgür Yener evaluated by the academic and educator biennial jury. All projects from fine arts were evaluated by Akçay, while digital works and video art works were evaluated by Nur Bardakçı. Educators Yeliz Arapoğlu and Başak Salih Gülbin created the workshops and interviews in the program of 120 academics.
31 Countries, More Than 245,000 Viewers
Between 2010-2018, one country, 31 countries and Turkey participated in the bienna with 1.601 projects. 28,960 students took part in the biennial with their works, projects and stage performances; He produced projects while he toured 1,969 schools, NGOs, institutions, 7,149 schools, activities and education in the biennial. 245,661 students attended the events to take part in the biennials as spectators.
Istanbul Children and Youth Art Biennial is an international art education organization for children and young people aged 4-18 to take part in modern art, where they will be designed and meet with the audience. The biennial is held once in the world and in Turkey as two breeding sessions in 2010.
