Woman stabbed in Monaco: her spouse should be imprisoned in France before being extradited
“Why ?”. In the Principality, where a young woman was stabbed ten times this Sunday morning, the question is on everyone’s lips. The mystery remains intact.
Why JC., a 34-year-old Monegasque and municipal employee assigned to the Exotic Garden, stabbed C., his wife ten years his junior, in their state apartment in the tangerinesa residence nestled in the Moneghetti district.
The investigators of the Judicial Police Division of Monaco have still not heard from the victim, who until now was in a worrying state, will have to take their troubles patiently.
The alleged perpetrator having been arrested this Sunday afternoon on French soil, north of Menton, an extradition is necessary so that he can be heard in the Principality. A process that can take several weeks.
In detention at the Nice gendarmerie, he will be presented this Tuesday morning before the general prosecutor of Aix-en-Provence, authorized to notify him of an international arrest warrant. At the end, he should be imprisoned in France before being extradited, thereafter, to Monaco.
The soon to be victim heard by the investigators
The survival of the young victim would be a miracle according to several sources. She is still hospitalized at the Princess Grace Hospital Center where she has undergone several operations.
Out of the woods, she will soon be heard by the investigators. They will then be able to determine more precisely the chronology of the facts and the context around this “attempted homicide“as the Monaco public prosecutor’s office described it when opening a judicial investigation.
In the coming days, the Monegasque technical and scientific police will carry out meticulous findings in the couple’s apartment, which have been sealed since the victim was taken care of. The bladed weapon used by the 30-year-old has not yet been found.
