With a surprising 0:3 defeat Innsbruck AC against the home SK St. Johann finally lost contact with the top of the table in the Tirol Liga. A four-way battle for titles and promotion seems to be developing at the top. Silz/Mötz can flip the switch and win the hit game in Mils 2:1 – and are back at the top of the table. Kematen drew level with Mils with a 1-0 win against Prutz/Serfaus, Kundl kept up with a 2-0 win against Munster.
Game at a good level between Innsbrucker AC and SK St. Johann
Roland Springinsfeld, coach SK St. Johann: “My team made a really great start to the game. We had one or two very good chances, but then it was a balanced game with chances for both sides. A very good level game with an open mind, very attractive for the spectators, quite nerve-wracking for the coaches. Despite the many good opportunities, there was no goal in the first half.
My team took the lead in the 49th minute – Nicolas Hofer scored to make it 1-0. The Heimelf responded with a slat commuter, that was 1:1 in the air. In the 64th and 69th minute we were able to decide the game. Goals from Philipp Bader and Paul Weissensteiner gave us a 3-0 lead. A very important and – due to the strong second half – also a deserved success for my team!
Best Players SK St Johnan: Milos Peric and Georg Pendl (goal)
Union Innsbruck also wins in Natters
The relegation battle in the Tirol Liga seems to have had two teams firmly under control by mid-April, and they can hardly save themselves. Zams remains at the bottom of the table and cannot gain ground at home even with a 0:3 against Ebbs. The 0:2 in Völs is another blow to the neck for Zirl. These two teams are unlikely to catch up with the field. On the other hand, the Union Innsbruck is striving for further upwards – a 3:1 success in Natters and only four points missing on a one-digit place in the table.
