After the discovery, this Sunday, April 17, of the corpse of an octogenarian lying in a pool of blood, the trail of a burglary that would have gone wrong seems to be moving away. But the results of the autopsy will be decisive.
One body, lots of blood, but very few clues. After the death of an 84-year-old lady this Sunday in the Terrasse district of Toulouse, questions remain. To date, without the abundant presence of blood at the scene of the tragedy, the police would be moving towards a natural death. But to definitively rule out the criminal trail, the investigators must still carry out several checks.
Until late this Sunday, the investigators of the territorial direction of the judicial police (DTPJ), in charge of the investigations in a file opened for “intentional homicide” by the parquet floor of Toulouse, therefore passed all this large house to the sieve. They were helped by forensic science technicians. All these specialists noticed no trace of the break-in. The first officials to intervene in this macabre scene thought that furniture had been moved, but this hypothesis does not seem to be confirmed.
A cry in the night?
If a burglar had broken into the old lady’s house, why wouldn’t he have taken the thousands of euros in cash that were kept in the house? And how would he get in? A French window was found open, but it was protected by an electric shutter…
In light of these elements, two tracks now seem to stand out. Either this retiree died by accident, or her attacker had the keys to her home. In this case, he would have acted methodically without leaving, for the time being, any trace behind him. Even more mysterious, a neighbor claims to have heard a cry the night before the discovery of the body of this octogenarian. If this element was true, did the victim want to sound the alarm after falling? Or scare away whoever attacked her? The results of the autopsy, certainly returned this week, should make it possible to answer part of these interrogations.
