Governor Holcomb will leave for Sweden, the United Kingdom and Monaco
Governor Eric Holcomb and Trade Minister Brad Chambers will lead an economic development trip to Sweden, the United Kingdom and Monaco.
The delegation departs on 24 April and returns on 1 May.
The point of the trip is to strengthen strategic relationships and highlight Indiana’s leadership in the industries of the future.
This marks Holcomb’s 11th International Economic Development Journey as Governor.

Governor Eric J. Holcomb and Commerce Secretary Brad Chambers will lead an economic development trip to Sweden, the United Kingdom and Monaco from April 24 to May 1 to strengthen strategic relations and highlight Indiana’s leadership in the industries of the future.

Europe represents one of India’s largest regions for foreign direct investment and trade relations with more than 550 European-owned companies in Indiana. Following the IEDC’s recently announced partnership with Avalanche Andretti, the journey will end with the Formula E World Championship race in Monaco. The governor and secretary will host important business opportunities and showcase India’s future economy linked to motorsport and emerging technologies including electric vehicles, batteries and clean energy.
Gov. Holcomb, Sec. Chambers and First Lady Janet Holcomb and IEDC senior staff will travel to Sweden on Sunday, April 24, ending their trip in Monaco and returning to Indiana on Sunday, May 1. The trip comes just weeks before Indiana’s inaugural Global Economic Summit, during which Indiana will welcome delegations from dozens of international partners including Europe.
April 26-28 in London, Governor Holcomb and Sec. Chambers will meet with government officials, including Minister Penny Mordaunt, UK Foreign Secretary at the Department of International Trade, and Greg Hands, UK’s Minister for Business, Energy and Clean Growth. Chambers teamed up with company executives to celebrate the grand opening of Saab’s new advanced manufacturing and production facility in West Lafayette, which supports the production of the U.S. Air Force’s next-generation T-7A training jet.
This marks Governor Holcomb’s 11th International Economic Development Journey as Governor and is the third international trip with IEDC for Sec. Chambers. The cost of the trip is paid through private donations to the Indiana Economic Development Foundation.
