Monaco restarts the machine
Beaten last weekend in Dijon, Monaco took advantage of the reception of Pau-Lacq-Orthez to move forward (85-76) and come back up to Boulogne-Levallois at the top of the standings. Enough to fill up with confidence before the start of the Euroleague quarter-finals.
Monaco does not gamble. Coming out of a defeat on the Dijon floor last weekend, the “Roca Team” did not miss the opportunity to return to victory. On its parquet floor in the Salle Gaston-Médecin, the Principality club got the better of Pau-Lacq-Orthez. If the Béarnais struck first, Paris Lee’s teammates (20 points) immediately took control of operations to take a ten-point lead before the conclusion of the first quarter. If Elan Béarnais reacted, however, it was without reversing the trend. The six-point lead after the first ten minutes of the game did not grow for the ten minutes leading up to the break. Thanks in particular to Brandon Jefferson (19 points, 6 assists), Pau-Lacq-Orthez knew how to stay afloat and return to four units when returning to the locker room.

Monaco mastered
Undoubtedly unhappy with the performance of his team, Sasa Obradovic tightened the bolts on the break and it quickly felt. Thanks to an 8-0 at the start of the third quarter, the “Roca Team” regained a margin of more than ten points. Elan Béarnais attached themselves but could not do better than return to seven units. If Monaco led in the score without stopping, the teammates of Danilo Andjusic (17 points) were never completely safe. The Palois pushed, remained most of the time below the bar of ten points behind but without managing to take this further step to challenge Monegasque domination. ASM signs a 21st victory this season (85-76) and joins Boulogne-Levallois, beaten this Saturday in Strasbourg, at the top of the hierarchy. Before the first two games of the Euroleague quarter-finals against Olympiacos, the “Roca Team” is full of confidence. Pau-Lacq-Orthez, after the defeat in the Classic, continues a second loss in a row and is found at a distance by Limoges and Strasbourg.
