At the last city council of Villons-les-Buissonsmunicipality of north of Caen (Calvados) the councilors examined several subjects, including the increase in taxes and the new developments planned. A rise that they simply explain. The elected officials validated the proposal to increase taxes by 3%. Yves Régnier, assistant in charge of finance, justified the decision: “The surplus of €26,000 is not enough to meet future expenses, especially since expenses will increase”.
Mayor Patrick de Bruyn clarified that the last increase took place in 2018, and that the rates remain relatively low: 37.64 for built land, 24.5%. The team intends to think about a more gradual increase.
An investment boost
The provisional budget for 2022 is balanced at €404,933 in operation, and €474,932 in investment. This section benefits from the report of the surplus of the 2021 administrative account exceptionally boosted by the sale of land for the health center (€380,000).
Several developments planned
Developments are planned in the town: the tit plot will be equipped with new games suitable for toddlers. It is a space particularly reported by families and childminders. The games selected, by city councilor Elise Blaisot, will be installed “in a setting protected by a fence and colored benches will complete the space”. The development will cost a maximum of €40,000. The surroundings of the town hall will be redesigned, with the creation of a delimited and traced car park. Secure barriers and retractable blocks will be used to preserve access to the area around the town hall (maximum amount €20,000). The sports area will be equipped with panels of baskets of different heights, and will offer the possibility of practicing other sports, “without inconvenience for the neighborhood”, specifies deputy Jean Louvel.
Trees cut but replaced
The maintenance of the hedge bordering the tennis court will no longer be possible because it adjoins the Jardin d’Aros real estate program. The trees will therefore be cut down and crushed. New plantings will be made next fall, “but no hedges”. The fence that surrounds the court will be consolidated and equipped with protection “to limit the effects of the wind, but also noise pollution”.
