Adliswil: Two motorcycle drivers injured in a traffic accident
At 1:00 p.m., a 28-year-old motorcyclist drove up Bucheneggstrasse towards Buchenegg. At the same time, a 63-year-old motorist and a 45-year-old motorcyclist were driving in the direction of Adliswil. For currently unexplained reasons, the motorcyclist driving uphill came into the oncoming lane in a sharp right-hand bend. He first collided sideways with the passenger car and then with the other motorcycle. Both bicycle handlebars fall. While the one driving uphill came to rest on the road, the motorcyclist driving downhill was pushed off the road and only came to a standstill on the sloping terrain. The two motorcyclists faced unspecified dangers in the accident and were taken to hospitals by ambulance.
The exact cause of the accident has not yet been clarified and is being investigated by the Zurich cantonal police and the responsible public prosecutor.
In addition to the Zurich canton police, the Adliswil municipal police, the Unteramt and Adliswil fire brigades, the ambulance of the Seespital Horgen and an emergency doctor and an ambulance from Schutz & Rescue Zurich were on duty.
Because of the accident, Bucheneggstrasse had to be closed for several hours in both directions.
