Toulouse and its metropolis are ranked among the top French cities for attendance at their cinemas, and first for attendance at the art and essays sector. Among the 27 festivals that make up the 2nd edition of the Cinema Season supported by the City of Toulouse, some are already more than twenty years old.

Grindhouse Paradise: Toulouse Fantastic Film Festival
Organized by the Toulouse Fantastic Film Club association, the Grindhouse Paradise festival showcases the best in contemporary genre cinema, with a particular interest in fantasy, science fiction, horror and thrillers from all over the world.
The program proposes to discover atypical and offbeat, even irreverent films. To quench the public’s annual thirst for the bizarre and the transgressive, Grindhouse Paradise is now dishing out a dose of genre cinema over 4 days. A third big & louder edition, with more films for more guilty pleasure, French premieres, previews, cult films, encounters and exhibitions.

Courts competition, on the theme of light
Organized by students from Toulouse Capitole University on an initiative by Serge Regourd, this competition aims to democratize short films, a genre that is poorly represented in traditional distribution circuits. It highlights the short films of directors from all over the world so that they are recognized by the guests and the jury of professionals.
Enthusiasts, beginners and anyone wanting to take on a new challenge can submit their short film to win one of the 6 prizes chosen by the jury from the film industry. This year, the Premier Court prize rewards those who make their first short film.

Traverse International Meetings, 25th edition
Organized by the Traverse association, the festival is dedicated to a section of cinema which has the reputation of being difficult because it is experimental. Since its origin, it has been accompanied by forms of contemporary expression, performances and installations. The festival offers rarely seen films, from established, emerging and student artists, from 54 countries and invites many artists.
