Celebrate on Sunday? – this is how RB Salzburg becomes champion
RB Salzburg could already be crowned Austrian champions this Sunday. In addition to a win at Wiener Austria, Matthias Jaissle’s team also needs support from Rapid.

RB Salzburg is undeterred in the Austrian Bundesliga again this year. Neither the upheaval in the summer nor the division of points in the spring at LASK could stop the Mozart city-dwellers. The ninth championship in a row seems only a matter of time. Matthias Jaissle’s team will have their first opportunity to win the title again on Sunday.
Should Salzburg win the away game at Wiener Austria and Sturm Graz lose to Rapid Wien at the same time, the series champions could no longer be ousted from the top. Although the Grazers still have the chance to draw level with the Salzburgers in terms of points, in this case the direct duel would serve as the first decisive factor – and with three wins from the three previous duels this independent of the last meeting on April 27th goes to the Jaissle -Eleven.
Jaissle pushes thoughts of Freestyle aside
“The fact that we might already be able to become champions this weekend plays absolutely no role in the pre-season. We have to concentrate on our game and our performance. We’ve done very well with that so far, We should keep it that way,” Jaissle pushed aside thoughts of a possible master freestyle in Vienna. It would be the 13th for the club from the city of Mozart.
Salzburg is a guest at Austria Wien on Sunday from 2.30 p.m. (LIVE! at kicker).
