The Standing Conference of Prosecutors opposes the closure of special justice in Bulgaria
The Standing Conference of Prosecutors Working Against
organized crime, corruption and terrorism declared
against the closure of specialized justice in Bulgaria, the Bulgarian prosecution ruled.
At the request of representatives of the Council of Europe
held an online meeting of the Executive Board of the Permanent
a conference of prosecutors working against the organized
crime, corruption and terrorism. It was discussed at the meeting
the forthcoming closure of the specialized structures of the judiciary in the Republic of Bulgaria.
All participants in the meeting expressed a negative position on the disclosure of structures called to fight organized crime, terrorism and corruption.
“Foreign representatives of the expression of dangers to the violation of the independence of magistrates, the rule of law and the creation of difficulties in the work of international legal cooperation in criminal matters,” said the press center of the prosecutor’s office.
This is a decision to transfer an extraordinary and immediate meeting on April 28, 2022 to the Executive Board of the Standing Conference, which will issue a declaration in defense of the specialized structures of the judiciary in the Republic of Bulgaria.
The establishment of the Standing Conference of Prosecutors Working against Organized Crime, Corruption and Terrorism is based on the UN Convention against Transnational Organized Crime, signed in Palermo, Italy in 2000. It is supported by the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.
