The season is over for Hannover United
48:56 in the second semi-final at RSV Lahn-Dill: Hannover United finished the season respectably
Wetzlar. It was the typical David versus Goliath story. The giant, host RSV Lahn-Dill this autumn, let the dwarf – Hannover United – sniff the surprise. Unlike the story from the Old Testament, however, the warrior only faltered briefly. The preliminary round runner-up in the wheelchair basketball league took place after initial difficulties and got better and better in the game. And after the 68:42 in the first play-off semi-final, they also won the reunion in Wetzlar with 56:48 (18:9, 28:26, 41:42). The Wetzlar team are in the final against the Thuringia Bulls, and the 2021/2022 season is over for Hanover.

By half-time, the guests could only get five more points. The RSV bit its way, minimized its error rate and shortened.

RSV scored the first five points after the restart, but United did not give up and gave Goliath a knife-edge fight. The fact that neither team was able to break away indicated that the balance of power was not as clear as in the first semi-final. And when Lahn-Dill threatened to move away, Jan Haller took responsibility.
Seven points in the last round too few
At the beginning of the last quarter, the Hanoverians only had to let the favorites pull away in disgust. Only after five and a half minutes did Lars Vigoda score the first two points – to 43:47. A total of only seven points in the last round were not enough.
United: Jantz (16), Vigoda (14), Haller (9), Budde (7), Goose (2), Hell, Seebold
