The call Startup4Culture is online, the competition born from WMF – The largest Festival on Digital and Social Innovation, with the collaboration of the Digital Library of the Ministry of Culture (MiC), to foster the synergy between the cultural and technological sectors of the country , as well as between the public sector and private entrepreneurship. The call was created with the aim of identifying and supporting innovative projects that combine the cultural sector with that, to discover startups and companies with innovative and technological ideas, digital and digital projects capable of enhancing the Italian historical-cultural heritage. Indeed, the goal of WMF and Digital Library – from the sharing of ideas born last year with the participation of the MiC at WMF2021 – is to innovate the Italian cultural and creative sector thanks to the tools of digitization. All startups can participate with an innovative project capable of responding to the challenges of technological implementation in the cultural sector, with the aim of facilitating access and use of the country’s enormous historical, artistic and cultural heritage. The final phase of Startup4Culture will be hosted during WMF2022 within the World Startup Fest, an event dedicated to startups and scaleups from all over the world that takes place within the WMF from 16 to 18 June. In this context, in a thematic area of the Rimini fair called Startup District, there will be the Startup Stage with the pitches of 36 innovative startups selected from all over the world, Scaleup for Future, an initiative dedicated to the Italian and international scaleup world and numerous meetings B2B with investors, corporates and international representatives. Also noteworthy is the Startup Weekend, a 54-hour marathon promoted by Techstars that will involve 80 aspiring entrepreneurs in the co-design of concrete responses to the innovation needs of local communities. The final phase of the Startup4Culture call
The WMF team, together with the MiC and the Digital Library, will select the finalists – among the proposals received – which will be announced on May 30th. These challenges will arise during the 2022 edition of the Festival – from 16 to 18 June at the Fiera di Rimini – through a pitch competition, and online on the hybrid platform.
