L1: Monaco 2-1 Troyes (final)
On the 31st day of Ligue 1, AS Monaco won at home against Troyes (2-1).
A more difficult success than expected for the Monegasques, who were however far superior in the first half hour. Installed in half of the opposing fields, Philippe Clément’s men were becoming more and more threatening. Not necessarily on the strike of Vanderson easily captured by Moulin.
But rather on the axial free kick of Caio Henrique (1-0, 19th), well helped by a bad anticipation of the goalkeeper number 2 of the ESTAC. Either way, Monaco would have done the hardest part and loosened up enough to allow Troyes to raise their heads. Result, on a good pivot action, the Ugbo striker (1-1, 39th) punished ASM just before the break. It felt like a trap match for ASM, hence Volland’s entry at the start of the second period.
And on his second ball, the German restored the advantage to his team with a superb sequence in the area (2-1, 57th)! A reduction for the premises far from being serene this Sunday. Once again, Ugbo came very close to equalizing on one of ESTAC’s situations. The Monegasques were therefore very happy to hear the final whistle which confirmed their good operation at the top of the table.
