The Luxembourg Garden voted third “most beautiful garden in the world”
The Parisian public park comes ahead of all of its European competitors, in an online ranking based on the opinion of tourists.
“The most beautiful garden in Europe!“, welcomed the Luxembourg garden, in a tweet published this Saturday. The park located in the 6th arrondissement indeed comes first among European gardens, in a list produced by the English-speaking site HouseFees. The Luxembourg Garden is thus “on the podium of the most beautiful gardens in the world“, met before the public park on Twitter.
The ranking is based on the aggregation of several thousand tourist reviews left on the TripAdvisor site, with the mention “gorgeous“. Only the Gardens by the Bay in Singapore (12,385 mentions”gorgeous“) and the Majorelle Garden in Marrakech (8,187 mentions) come before the Luxembourg Gardens (6,818 mentions).
Fourth in the world rankings, the Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Garden in Las Vegas comes first in the United States (5,708 mentions “gorgeousNote that, again according to the HouseFresh site, seven of the 20 parks designated as the most beautiful in the world are in Europe.
Created in 1612 at the request of Marie de Medici, the Jardin du Luxembourg takes its name from the former private mansion on which it was built: the Hôtel de Luxembourg. Open to the public free of charge, the park, which belongs to the domain of the Senate, extends over 23 hectares.
