Russia – against the backdrop of retreat from Kyiv and significant losses during the hostilities recognized by the Kremlin itself – replaced the commander of the operation in Ukraine. This is claims the BBC referring to an unnamed representative of the West.
According to his appointment, General of the Army Alexander Dvornikov, commander of the troops of the Southern Military District, became the new command. It is emphasized that he gained significant combat experience by directing aviation operations in dentistry.
According to the BBC, one of the reasons for the problems associated with the invasion targets in Ukraine was poor coordination between the units of the various military regions involved in the operation. General Dvornikov must change this situation and find a possibility.
The statement also says that the West is convinced that the federal troops have set the task of achieving some kind of success in Ukraine by May 9, when Russia will have Victory Day, including a parade in Moscow with the participation of President Vladimir Putin.
