Russia and Ukraine proposed the exchange of truckers
32 truckers returned to Russia, and 20 to Ukraine, the press service of the Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia, Tatyana Moskalkova, reported on Telegram.
“With the participation of the institute of the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation for the exchange of truckers. 32 Russian drivers and 20 Ukrainian drivers returned home, as well as a number of citizens of Belarus, ”the press service quoted Moskalkova as saying.
Earlier, the Ombudsman announced the evacuation of 14 ships with the departure of Azov Concorde. According to her, the forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine correspond to the crew in the port of Mariupol since February 24. The sailors were deprived of funds, documents, there were problems with communication with food and the need for the first, Moskalkova added. To resolve the situation with the sailors, the ombudsman turned to the Ministry of Defense and the Russian Foreign Ministry, as well as to Ukrainian structures, the ombudsman spoke in detail, suggested that work is being calculated to return home citizens assessed in Ukraine.
On March 25, Moskalkova announced that six Russian and six Ukrainian truckers were able to return home. However, according to the definition of the Ombudsman, “a large number of our truckers” are still being measured on Ukrainian territory.
The first exchange of prisoners of war between Russia and Ukraine took place on 24 March. Then ten Russian soldiers detained in captivity were exchanged for the same number of Ukrainian ones. In early April, an exchange of prisoners took place according to the formula “86 for 86”.
