Matthias Jaissle plans to stay at FC Red Bull Salzburg – Football
Salzburg – Saturday, April 9th, 2022, 10:40 a.m
If Matthias Jaissle has his way, he will not leave FC Red Bull Salzburg.
In an interview with the “Salzburg news“, which will be held as part of the Golden Leonidas award ceremony, says the German as coach of the year 2021/22: “It looks good that I’ll stay in Salzburg.”
The 34-year-old is modest about personal honors and records that would be “almost a bit uncomfortable”. In football, many people would contribute to success.
It’s the team that wins games and he doesn’t deliver a “one man show”. That’s why he “received the award on behalf of everyone in the club.”
Jaissle, who has been in charge of Salzburg as head coach since the 2021/22 season, does not describe himself as the “really best coach”.
“As the coach of Red Bull Salzburg, I’m automatically in the limelight a little more than some of my colleagues. There were a few coaches who deserved the award.” He also refers to other sports in which “sometimes unbelievable” would be achieved.
Jaissle emphasizes that he still has to work “really hard” for a title and repeatedly refers to the achievements of the young team that has gone through an upheaval: “What this young team has in the Champions League was great. But even if One or the other probably can’t hear it anymore: We’re on the right track in the league and cup, but haven’t achieved anything yet.”
