Fashion designers will present their new collection at the spring fashion week in Prague
As of today, a fashion show of established Czech and Slovak fashion designers and university students has been produced in Hall No. 13 for three days. The program will start today at 15:00 with a collection show prepared by Michael Kováčik for this autumn and winter.
A Slovak designer living in Prague as a stylist began his career. She then decided to establish her own brand with characteristic simplicity, minimalism and elegance in 2013. “I combine comfort and femininity and it is very important for me that the collections are timeless and not subject to fashion trends,” he said of his work.
In the evening at 8.30 pm, Slovak designer Pavol Dendis will present the collection for next season. Since 2017, his work has focused mainly on men’s collections, which are characterized by the simple use of aesthetics based on color, thoughtful construction or recycled materials. But it is also popular with women’s audiences thanks to men’s cuts, loose silhouettes and seasonal accessories.
Due to world events, participation in the event is more than usual, so only one pier with shows will be waiting to visit instead of two. However, the organizers state that after two pandemic years that have significantly influenced the fashion business, the event will once again welcome foreign guests from a number of shopping, photographers, street style photographers and celebrities.
The four finalists of the competition for young design talents, selected by an expert jury based on the submitted portfolios, will also present their collections in a joint block. Some events organized during the fashion week will take place outside the market – for example, presentations by Liběna Rochová and students of the Clothing and Footwear Design Studio of the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design are produced in the Andaz Hotel Prague on Senovážné náměstí.
