Countries reopen embassies in Kiev, Portugal is under analysis
Italy returning after Easter to the Ukrainian capital
“We were the last to leave Kiev and we will be the first to return.” Italy will reopen the embassy in Ukraine, as did Slovenia, which returned at the end of March. Contacted by CNN Portugal (from the TVI group), the Portuguese Ministry of Foreign Affairs claims to be analyzing a similar step.
The first step was taken by the European Union, after the High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy announced the return to Kiev.
“The European Union returns to Kiev. I say – even more precisely in Kiev: our head of reference to Kiev, to work together and close”, announced José Borrell, precisely in Kiev, where he is meeting with President Volody myr Zelensky.
Already this Saturday, the European Union’s ambassador to Ukraine published an important photograph with the hurried flag, with the phrase “things first”.

The Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs originated that the return is scheduled for “immediately after Easter”.
Poland was the only country that did not leave Kiev, keeping the embassy open throughout the war.
