Toulouse: on strike against the transfer to the private sector of the CHU crèche
A large part of the employees of the CHU crèche, Rangueil site, were on strike yesterday. Management confirms the sale to a private group.
Twenty employees of the CHU crèche, Rangueil site in Toulouse (out of 26), were on strike yesterday. The direction of the CHU will yield, in the coming months, the management of this crèche, which welcomes approximately 110 children, to a private group.
The strikers, 16 of whom were appointed by management on Thursday, to provide care for the children of caregivers, denounce a possible deterioration in reception and working conditions, following the concession of this activity to the private sector.
“We chain meals, changes, bedtimes…”
We were able to meet Céline, a childcare assistant, yesterday at the “World Health Day” gathering, near the Capitole in Toulouse, organized by the CGT and Sud Santé. “Our working conditions are very complicated. We chain meals, changes, bedtimes. The lack of staff, the work overload, the pressure of schedule changes indicate our availability to meet the specific needs of children”.
The private company chosen by the CHU is building new premises in 2025
The management of the CHU, requested by “La Dépêche”, confirms the next concession of the nursery service to a private structure. The designated company will build new premises by 2025. The project provides for the takeover of professionals and the guarantee of the current status of the crèche staff.
Several meetings with the teams “made it possible to answer their questions and to associate them with the progress of the project”, further indicates the CHU.
