Toulouse has “scattered a bit” off the field
Before hosting Ulster in the round of 16 of the Champions Cup, Ugo Mola now wants his team to focus on the pitch after the media frenzy due to the release of a film on Stade Toulousain.
Stade Toulousain, opposed Saturday to the Irish of Ulster in the round of 16 first leg of the European Rugby Cup, was “a little dispersed” with the upcoming release of a film on the club, regretted Friday its coach, Ugo Mola. “Ideally, in our microcosm, we like to master the weeks of the European Cup with only one concern: the opponent we are going to play,” he said at a press conference.
“The promotion has intensified a bit beyond my will on the week which is not necessarily the most appropriate for us,” he added. “We have to admit that we have dispersed a little despite ourselves.”
Field objective
The two headliners of the reigning European champion, Antoine Dupont and Romain Ntamack, were notably in Paris on Monday to promote the film, called “Le Stade”, in the media and attend a preview at the Grand Rex. “It’s also good to talk about rugby differently, but I don’t hide from you that I can’t wait to get back on the pitch,” insisted Mola. “The message was clear between us: we knew that we should not lose energy with all the demands, especially for Antoine and Romain.”
Their team-mate François Cros said that the Toulouse locker room had now become the page of dark rooms and red carpets: “It’s behind us now. We have to be actors in our field of action, that is to say We talk a lot about Stade Toulousain with the release of this film, but it would be good if we talked about it a little more for our results”, underlined the third international line, frustrated by the performances “in teeth of saw” of the Rouge et Noir for several months.
“We took the time this week to say things to each other and to ask ourselves to realize that the end of the season had been introduced and that all the matches were going to be crucial,” he said. “It’s up to us to find this collective attacking drive that we’ve been missing a bit lately.”
