The Women’s Offshore Mediterranean Championship starts from Genoa
The great evening by Marina Militare Nastro Rosa Tour is back starting from Tuesday: in fact, the Mediterranean Offshore Female Championship starts from Genoa, a regatta that from the Ligurian capital will end in La Maddalena, not before having rounded a buoy placed in French waters. An absolute novelty, given that never before has an offshore regatta been reserved for an exclusively female parterre.
Several teams at the start, with the duo composed of the Double Mixed Offshore world champion, Claudia Rossi, and Cecilia Zorzi, European champion of the same specialty, Consider Favorite Favorite of an eve that is scrolling between setting up the boats and studying the weather charts in order to set a rough routing.
“We return to racing, to water, the main element for those like us who have sailing and the sea in their blood and to do so there could not be a better opportunity to engage the girls in a selective offshore race such as the Women Offshore Mediterranean Championship – she explains Riccardo Simoneschi, leader of the Navy Nastro Rosa Tour- With this first event, focus on the female component of our sport and offer an opportunity to prepare for the girls to then participate in the mixed crews planned for the summer.
As far as the short term is concerned, the regatta will engage the crews on a course that hides many pitfalls: both the navigation along the Ligurian coast and the approach to La Maddalena are not all taken for granted “.
An appointment for women is the Mediterranean Offshore Championship which will be used in one of the main events which, in May, will take place under the banner of the Navy Nastro Rosa Tour: Double Mixed Offshore European Championship, scheduled from 10 May.
