Refugees in Krakow. How the city helps Ukrainians [fakty, liczby]

What is the city doing?

Registration point at TAURON Arena
So far, 7,500 people have been handled at the point. Currently, there are 22 positions, ultimately there will be 30 (operated with the help of government administration employees). The Arena also accepts applications for the payment of the assistance benefit in the amount of PLN 300. Already 5,600 such proceedings have been submitted.

Nearly 780 tons of gifts
On the day after the outbreak of the local government war, he launched a database of gifts from Krakow citizens, thanks to which it is possible to use the help of many needy cities in Ukraine. Krakow sent there 53 trucks, 64 services, 1 ambulance and 5 city buses with gifts. Migliknijmy, close to tons of gifts, nearly 780 public transport. Shelter for several thousand people
From the very beginning, the city provided shelter in hotels, boarding houses, hostels and large halls, incl. on Kolna, in the building at ul. Śniadeckich, in the building of the “red surgery” at ul. Kopernika 21. Plaza has been launched, and places in the former Tesco are ready. Currently, there are 1,681 people at these points.
– From the beginning of 2020, we have also removed the Ibis hotel, which originally operated as a quarter. In the last children of people available from this opportunity, there was a lot, this facility was not in the case, so we decided that these places were replaced by a city not from Ukraine – said Andrzej Kulig, deputy president for social and communal policy.
For mothers with children, the city has also launched a special place in Galeria Krakowska, where in peace and quiet you can pick up a child, feed it and rest.
At the Kraków railway station, the main scientific staff and employees who speak Ukrainian work at the reception point. The work of the point is supported by volunteers. Information leaflets in Ukrainian are a great convenience for the arriving guests.

Multi-million support for sources

Schools and kindergartens languages ​​of children and pupils from pupils

The city has also experienced the trauma of war, which will introduce educators, psychologists and educators to work with children.
Currently, it is not possible to create preparatory units in students’ schools. By law, preparatory only in schools available. Therefore, the president of Krakow secures a request to the Ministry of Science and Higher Education to change the provisions in this regard. Among people who came with additional children and wards that are difficult to access, there should be one in the generally accessible 30-person access.
