Monaco will challenge Olympiakos
For its last match of the Euroleague regular season, Monaco beat Alba Berlin 91-74 and therefore finished seventh, which gave it Olympiakos Piraeus in the quarter-finals.
Monaco is fixed! ASM, already qualified for the quarter-finals of the Euroleague, faced Alba Berlin this Friday at Gaston-MĂ©decin in a match without stake. And she won 91-74. Finishing seventh in the regular season, the Roca Team now know their opponent in the quarterfinals: it will be Olympiakos Piraeus! Monaco pleased its audience (including Stefanos Tsitsipas, who will defend his title from Sunday at the Masters 1000 in Monte-Carlo) for this last meeting of the regular season, by widening the gap throughout the match. Sasa Obradovic’s men only led 26-22 at the end of the first quarter, but thanks to a successful 9-0 straddling the two quarters, they took a ten-point lead (32-22), and the gap even climbed to +17 (43-26, 17th) before falling back a little before halftime (49-37, mt). On returning from the locker room, Monaco resumed its forward march (57-39, 24th), and the victory once acquired, the coach was able to open his bench. In the end, it was a victory of 17 points for the Red and Whites, who had a lead of up to 22 points. Eleven players from the Principality took part in this meeting, and it was Dwayne Bacon (19pts, 6rbds in 23min) and Donatas Motiejunas (18pts, 4rbds in 22min) who stood out the most.

Monaco can believe it
Monaco therefore ends this regular season with 15 wins for 13 defeats, and will face Olympiakos in ten days for Match 1 of the quarter-finals (where the Frenchman Livio Jean-Charles notably rocks), who finished second with 19 wins for 9 defeats. Both teams have largely won at home during the regular season: 86-65 for the Greeks in November and 92-72 for the Monegasques in March. The quarter-finals will be a best-of-five game, with the winner going to the Final Four in May in Belgrade. And if Monaco created the feat?
