Moldova Day Association organizes a Kilter Board panel in Iasi – a smart climbing wall for children and young people with disabilities
The Good to Height project is part of the series of projects carried out by the Good Morning Association in the area of Moldova. In March, Good Morning Moldova set up a playground for children in Ukraine in one of the refugee centers in Iasi. For April, ZDB Moldova wants to provide children from Iasi with skills and
Good Morning Moldova arranged a playground for children and some relaxation areas for adults in one of the refugee centers in Iasi, where the Local Administration, the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations and Civil Society actively contributed to transform or office building in a welcoming place for those fleeing war.
“We think of mothers and grandmothers who deserve more than to spend a few months glued to a mattress, talking in a whisper so that their children can’t hear them, smiling uncertainly when they need to cry. And the children lor their children deserve toys that look like theirs, the ones left at home… and slides that gather laughter and joy and games that do not allow sadness to gather. We really want to do that for them too! So, together with the ParentIS Association and the friends from the A + noima architecture office, we offered them this good place ”, mentions Melania Medeleanu, co-founder of the Good Day Association.
In the last week, the space has been traversed by dozens of refugees, especially mothers, children and grandparents. The playground is a breath of fresh air for the little ones, but also for the parents, because they can let it be secured with the will, as long as they plan they will continue. In addition to the playground and relaxation areas already arranged, Goodbye and Teenagers proposes to set up a media room, where they can spend time watching the movie. The plan also includes a playground in the center yard, so that the little ones can enjoy the warm season.
Also in April, the Good Day Association launches the Good to Height – ZDBMoldova project, which proposes to arrange, in support of children supported by the Climb Again Association, smart climbing for children and young people with disabilities and various disabilities. Climbing is a sport that involves a lot of physical activity, discouraging for children and young people with disabilities who might think to try. The Kilter Board has a built-in software program that allows themed routes through integrated lighting in sockets. Climbing routes can be done by instructors, but also by children. It has the ability to memorize routes, and those who will use it will be able to follow its own evolution. These characteristics allow children with disabilities to practice climbing and progress, both physically and mentally. The climbing wall offers alternatives even for children with visual impairments of more than 1%.
“We will give the Climb Again center in Iași and all the young people and children with disabilities who train there the most important element for climbing therapy! The Climb Again Center in Iasi opened in the summer of 2021, since then, over 50 children with various disabilities have had the opportunity to train and develop skills, both physical and mental and social. The plan for 202 is to work weekly with 30 children with neurological and related disabilities in the “Beyond Boundaries” project, and a Kilter Board would be extraordinarily good for their individual training. Most of these children come from the Ion Holban Technical College in Iași “, says Melania Medeleanu, co-founder of the Zi de BINE Association.
The budget required for the implementation of the Good to High – ZDBMoldova project is 25,000 euros and is provided by Trutzi SRL.

Good at Height offers the chance to young people with disabilities and deficiencies in Iasi to develop confidence, coordination in space and to practice a beneficial activity for the whole body. Such an activity has a therapeutic role on children and young people, allowing them to exercise sensory, physical, mental and relationship skills. When children climb together, they use the same social and cooperative skills that they want with friends, at school and at work later in life. Cooperation builds the much-needed trust of young people with disabilities and various disabilities.
“I had the privilege of experiencing climbing and the benefits of sport both as a performance athlete and as a person with disabilities who used climbing as therapy, recovery and integration. I admit that I did not have the opportunity to train on a kilter board, but they are extremely happy because, together with the Good Morning Association, we can offer this sensory climbing wall to the Climb Again Iași Center. The Killer Board is the most beneficial climbing wall for children and young people with disabilities. It is for all ages, uses a light system integrated in the sockets and there are thousands of themed climbing routes. Moreover, it best combines the therapy activity with the sports one, and the children perceive it as something very fun “, mentions Răzvan Nedu, world vice-champion, captain of the National Paraclimbing Team, climbing instructor at the Climb Again Center.
The climbing panel will be ready by the end of April.
