Before UFC 273, Logan Paul shared a pretty funny story about his experience of training at an MMA gym in Stockholm a few years ago. Apparently, the social media influencer who became a boxer was viciously robbed by one of the fighters.
“I went to Sweden to train for a couple of weeks, and I went to this gym. I looked away and there was this guy who kind of stared at me – big beard, looked like a fucking idiot. That was where Gustafsson trained. And months later, this guy named Khamzat Chimaev is doing an incredible UFC race, and I’m like, “Oh my God, that was the guy who was mean and robbed me of that gym in the middle of Sweden, in Stockholm.”
Paul was referring to the time he visited the AllStar Training Center in Sweden in 2019. That was before he made his proboxing debut, and before Chimaev even made it to the UFC. As Paul mentioned, Chimaev was signed by the UFC shortly after, where he would continue to win three matches in two months, all through breaks.
Two years after their training session, and with his martial arts careers on the rise, Chimaev decided to call out both Jake and Logan Paul. Unfortunately for him, while Logan mentioned a name he wants for a possible UFC match, it seems he is not interested in Chimaev.
“We showed up at the gym. I sparred a couple of their guys. They did not let me kick Khamzat, but yes, he’s one of – king dogs! I do not do MMA with him, not in any way,” Paul said. surely box him, I would more than like to box him. But that’s the problem, all these UFC fighters are locked up! It is difficult to fight with any of them. ”
Paul also revealed the real reason why he was in Sweden that year.
“I recorded (in Sweden) an album. I’m trying a lot of shit, dude. It’s not coming out, ”Paul said with a laugh. “My producer was there. Many fantastic and very good music producers are Swedish. (It was not rap. It was) clean, it was full singing. It is very bad.”
