Vienna – Friday, April 8th, 2022, 2:36 p.m
FC Red Bull Salzburg have apparently prevailed in the race to sign one of the greatest Ivorian talents.
As the Liberia-based medium “Ducor Sports” reports, Karim Konate has already signed a contract with Austria’s series champion.
The “bulls” are said to be paying around three million euros to ASEC Mimosas. The club from the Ivory Coast sold Oumar Diakite to Salzburg last winter, and the youngster is currently playing for FC Liefering in the Admiral 2nd division.
18-year-old Konate has scored ten goals in 12 games in the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederations Cup respectively. The striker has also made three appearances for the Ivory Coast national team and most recently was in the squad for the Africa Cup of Nations.
The youngster is said to have signed a four-year contract in Salzburg and then move to the city of Mozart in the summer. Most recently, OGC Nice in particular was said to be very interested in a commitment.
