AMSTERDAM/ENSCHEDE – ‘When are you going to Enschede? Push the limit!’ The poster of Enschede Promotion in an Amsterdam tram booth this week to the desired reactions on Twitter.
“Have to say it does make you curious. So what’s so nice about Enschede?”, someone wonders. One Rick from Enschede, according to his own statements on Twitter ‘unvaccinated and anti-Ukraine’, is happy to respond. “Absolutely nothing. It is not the only real city in the east of the Netherlands, located internationally right on the German border. Not the coolest shopping culture and amenities city for miles around. No more than 160 nationalities.”
Despite these few flattering qualifications of its own resident, Enschede Promotion continues to do its best to positively put the city on the map in the rest of the Netherlands. An online and offline marketing campaign has been rolled out throughout the country to recommend Enschede as a destination for a weekend away. More oblige should be tempted to come here for longer stays.

And so you come across the message of Enschede Promotion everywhere. In Amsterdam tram shelters, but also on the radio (NPO Radio 1, Radio 2 and 3FM), Libelle Magazine, Delicious magazine, Volkskrant and NRC Weekend and online.
The extensive promotional campaign is a follow-up to the campaign that started in 2019. Research that I&O Research has carried out on behalf of Enschede Promotion shows that there are opportunities to allow more visitors to stay longer. The campaign should in any case prevent more extra overnight stays.

With the message ‘When are you going to Enschede?’ the target group is challenged to think of Enschede when choosing a weekend away in their own country. “In this way, we want to bring the positive image of the city to the attention of the country with a campaign,” says Bjorn de Voer of Enschede Promotion.
In the follow-up campaign, the focus will be on shopping, events, culture, culinary offerings and cycling & walking.
