A tram from Barrandov to Holyna will start running in Prague. The first new section was a historic car – ČT24 – Czech Television
DPP began building the dormitories last June, but preparations took a long time, mainly due to the decision to settle the land for construction. “The first mentions of the construction of a tram line are sometime in the late 80’s, but unfortunately this is the reality of the Czech Republic, the preparation takes much longer than the actual implementation,” said DPP director Petr Witowski.
DPP already has a building permit on the line to Sliven
Now the company will announce a tender for a company that will build the second part of the line to Sliven. According to Witowski, DPP already has a building permit and expects construction to begin next spring. Deputy Mayor Adam Scheinherr (Prague himself) stated that last year the city completed a loop in Zahradní Město from other tram lines and the extension of the tracks from the Prague Uprising in Pankrác. “This year we started the construction of the Depot Hostivař loop and the Modřany – Libuš tram line,” he recalled.
The deputy added that the DPP should start construction of the line to Dědina in the summer at the latest, as well as the construction of a bridge between Dvorec and Zlíchov, which will be designed specifically for trams, pedestrians and cyclists. “It’s not just about trams, we started building the first Palmovka – Letňany – Myškovice trolleybus line in January, which we would also like to put into operation in October this year,” said Witowski.
