2nd league: FC Wacker Innsbruck extends Liefering’s soccer match
Economically, FC Wacker Innsbruck is threatened with bankruptcy (more >>>), but at least as far as sport is concerned, the Tyroleans can make positive headlines again.
FC Wacker wins 1-0 away at FC Liefering in the 23rd round of the Admiral 2nd League.
The party in Wals-Siezenheim got off to an ideal start from the Tyroleans’ point of view, who were able to take the lead after a little over ten minutes: Joao Luiz served Ronivaldo with a cross, the Brazilian headed in against the direction of Liefering goalkeeper Adam Stejskal (11′).
Stejskal prevents 0:2 with a top save
Only a little later it rings again integrated. Paolino Bertaccini has quickly rounded Stejskal, but the keeper intervenes at the last moment.
Liefering played well in the first round, but there were no real top-class players. Roko Simic misses the best opportunity, but the Croatian puts the ball past the far corner.
Wacker still missed scoring two more goals at half-time, but substitute Rio Nitta failed to find Stejskal from a tight angle, and Ronivaldo just missed the rebound.
Shortly before the end, Raphael Hofer missed the equalizer from a short distance, but failed because of Wacker’s striker Alexander Eckmayr.
Liefering has not won in seven games and is fifth with 38 points. Wacker is Innsbruck in eighth place with 32 points.
