Volleyball Men NLA – The title is within reach for Amriswil – Sport
contents
Chênois Geneva does not find a recipe in the playoff final. Instead, after the 3-1 away win in the second duel, Amriswil is still missing a win to win the championship title.
The (still) champion Chênois was able to prevent the playoff final in men’s volleyball from degenerating completely into a solo performance by Amriswil by winning a set in game 2. In dealing with 2, the Genevans, who presented themselves more solid after the 0: 3 retrieval at the start, stopped the guests’ run.
From the reserve (19:21), the Calvinstadt team snatched the lead with 25:23 thanks to a strong finish and equalized in this game. However, this partial success did not give Chênois a boost.
The champagne is chilled
The Thurgau, who still seem to be riding a wave after their cup victory, promptly adjusted the strength ratio again. The team of head coach Juan Serramalera didn’t give up when the Genevans were fighting back towards the end of the match – and the score in the 4th set at 22:22 and 23:23 was at war again in the meantime. With 25:18, 23:25, 25:13 and 25:23 the verdict is clear.
The break at the first opportunity brings the qualifying winner three master balls in the best-of-five series. The fifth title beckons and the first since 2017.
