The pupil brought a knife to the school, and the police escorted him for a psychiatric examination
The incident happened around 9 am. “On line 158, we received an announcement from the school management that one of the students should have a knife with them,” police spokesman Jan Rybanský told the iDNES.cz portal.
The police immediately went to the place where they contacted the student. “We did find a knife with him and we were immediately its provider,” the spokesman described.
Subsequently, the police escorted the student to the hospital for an examination. Rescue service spokeswoman Jana Poštová told the Novinky.cz server that rescuers took a young man with mental health problems from the scene to the hospital.
The incident was without injuries and the police did not provide further details. According to the findings of the iDNES.cz portal, this is a pupil over the age of fifteen.
Police praised the school’s quick response. “The management correctly assessed the situation and immediately contacted line 158,” the police said.
A similar incident from the school environment last week ended tragically. A 19-year-old high school student in Prague 4 attacked one of the teachers with a machete on March 31. The man did not survive the attack. The perpetrator escaped from the scene, the police detained him the same day in Dolní Břežany. The presumed motive for the act was a dispute between a boy and a teacher.
Criminalists have already accused a student of the Prague apprenticeship of murder. He is currently in custody and faces up to 20 years in prison.
