Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov, on the air of the British TV channel Sky News, said that Russia began preparing for Western sanctions a year ago.

“We have been living under sanctions for a couple of years now and we are actually used to this situation. We were preparing for this sanctions a year ago and now, of course, we have a very difficult economic situation, but our economy is still on its feet”, Peskov said.

He drew attention to the fact that Russia is in the sphere of security in economic terms, even increasing the risks that are at risk.

Earlier, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said that Western surveillance is a blow to all citizens of the Russian Federation, including the most vulnerable segments of the population.

The head of the Cabinet recalled the words of Vladimir Putin, who said that the West is trying to “cancel” Russia. According to Mishustin, it is possible to stick the name of the country on the globe, but it is impossible to hide the seventh part of the land. He also added that the isolation that Russia finds itself in is an opportunity to create something of its own, grow production, and share native Russian values.

Prior to this, the President of the Russian Federation, at a meeting with the winners of awards for young cultural figures, said that the cultural decline of all of Russia is flourishing in the West. He cited American films as an example, where the United States is the winner of World War II, and the role of the USSR is hushed up. Putin is also comparable to Germany’s massive anti-terrorism campaign nearly 90 years ago.

The situation escalated after Vladimir announced on the night of February 24 that he had decided that Putin had a special opportunity in the Donbass. At the same time, he stressed that the plans of the powers of the Russian Federation do not include the occupation of the territories of Ukraine.

The heads of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics Denis Pushilin and Leonid Pasechnik demanded the President of the Russian Federation to help repel aggression from the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
