It is not easy to be a high-ranking gay man in the government of Bulgaria
Is it easy to be a high-ranking gay man in the government of Bulgaria?
The answer comes by itself – definitely not! Homophobia has spread across our Balkan latitudes undisturbed at the highest level. Take, for example, the very recent crackdown on the Prime Minister on the candidacy of Lubomir Karimanski for governor of the national treasury. Kiril Petkov shouted in front of Toshko Yordanov, famous for his refined manners, and threatened threateningly: “This corrupt pe … growth cannot be the head of the BNB!”
So how to live in such a country, tell me! It is true that the Christian Karimansky from Slavi’s party is a 50-year-old bachelor who has never known the happiness of going under the wreath or at least of having a bunch of illegal children. But does that automatically make him gay? Well, by this logic, people from Petkov’s closest circle can also be unjustly slandered. Here we will remind that both Asen Vassilev and Rumen Spetsov are homeless. But does that mean you should automatically look at them as people from the other side?
We, the people from the squares who brought the Change to power, are doubly disappointed with the Prime Minister’s action. When we choose him, we rely on him not as a sexual landscape, but as a person who will regularly search the gay site Grinder. And we were happy to hear the news when it turned out to be a fact, it came out of his phone by chance after a post by a European official.
Choose with a wide horizon with the approval of the meeting and the publication that the Prime Minister is buying sadomasochistic outfits and accessories from a prominent Turkish designer in the industry. We rejoiced when Linda, Lena, Kalina and other figures from the future government paraded side by side with us at the Sofia gay parades. And out of nowhere – but Karimanski was what you are.
Petkov’s cynicism was so unbearable that even the beaten Slavi did not dare to put the prime minister’s words in his mouth. And we know that Trifonov never hesitated to poke peppers in beans or tear the pants of his lyrical heroine, as long as he teased her. The long one, ashamed, expressed himself veiledly: “I understood with honesty that Petkov allowed himself to make an extremely obscene, rude and rude qualification in personal terms at the address of L. Karimanski.”
But it’s not just about insults. If today such obvious homophobia creeps on Dondukov 1, then tomorrow we can expect the cabinet to take away the noble title of the icon of Bulgarian otherness, Lord Evgeni Minchev.
Scientists claim that in men cohabitation becomes the feminine and masculine principle. And every real macho, if not caught by his beloved, during the day dreams of secretly varnishing at least the nails of the crisis. And didn’t some unconscious intraspecific struggle arise between Petkov and Vassilev, which, again according to science, was the fiercest? We will find out very soon when the name of the new BNB Governor is announced.
