Airbus promises 800 hires by the end of June 2022 in Toulouse
After announcing in January the massive recruitment of 6,000 people around the world, Airbus specifies on April 7, 2022 that it will hire 1,500 people in France by the end of June, including 800 in Toulouse.
The European aircraft manufacturer is refining its recruitment expectations in France. The Airbus group announced on January 19, 2022 the hiring about 6,000 people in the first 2022 party and reassessment of their needs during the year, in particular to support the ramp-up of its production after the crisis of Covid-19.
Of these 6,000 positions, Airbus therefore announces that it wants to recruit 1,500 people in France by the end of June 2022, including 800 in Toulouse.
“To these 1,500 recruitments in France will also be added 1,500 temporary workers and 1,500 trainees and work-study students”, announces the group’s communication. Airbus says it wants to recruit a third of young graduates leaving school to soak up new approaches. The aircraft manufacturer adds that it will review its hiring needs at the end of the first half, probably on the rise.
The aircraft manufacturer specifies that these hirings concern all the group’s activities (commercial aircraft, defense and space, helicopters). The paralysis of air traffic at the start of the pandemic had plunged the aeronautics sector into a serious crisis, leading Airbus to reduce its rates by 40% from April 2020 and to announce 15,000 job cuts.
The figure was finally revised downwards, in particular in favor of public aid such as the partial unemployment schemes set up in France or Germany, the main countries in which the aircraft manufacturer is established.
In the end, the number of group employees fell from 135,000 at the end of 2019 to nearly 126,500 at the end of 2021.
