Alleged IS member arrested in Berlin for torturing prisoners
The federal prosecutor arrested a Syrian in Berlin who, as a member of the Islamic State (IS) jihadist militia, is said to have abused or tortured three prisoners, including an Art. E. also performed duties in prisons for IS, handled the ransoming of captured tribesmen and wrote to IS road checkpoints.
He was to be brought before the investigating judge at the Federal Court of Justice on Wednesday, who would decide whether the detention should be carried out. E. are accused of crimes against humanity, war crimes and dangerous bodily harm.
