Basket-Elite: Monaco sticks to the Mets
The day after the success of Boulogne-Levallois, Monaco responded in the last match of the 25th day of Betclic Elite with a seventh victory in a row against Châlons-Reims (90-107).
Boulogne-Levallois will not remain alone in the lead for long. While the Metropolitans took the best of Fos-sur-Mer on Monday in a late match of the 24th day, Monaco responded tit-au-tac. Traveling to Châlons-Reims at the end of the 25th day of Betclic Elite, the “Roca Team” continued its series with a seventh consecutive victory.
In the fight to maintain, the Champenois were eye-catching from the start, leading to the score for a good part of the first quarter, which ended in a score of parity. The offensive tendencies of the two teams were not denied in the ten minutes leading up to halftime but, despite Dustin Ware (20 points) and Gani Lawal (20 points, 12 rebounds), the CCRB did not know how to take the broad face to Monegasques who were jostled before returning to their locker room with a delay of one length.
Monaco banged his fist on the table
A result that was not to the taste of Sasa Obradovic and, on returning to the floor, gives it a change. Led by Paris Lee (21 points, 7 rebounds, 9 assists), the Monegasque collective made the Champenois dizzy who, after scoring the first two points of the third quarter, sank body and soul. Cashing in a 16-0, they allowed the “Roca Team” to come off the scoreboardcounting up to 17 points in advance before approaching the last ten minutes with a margin of twelve units.
Last ten minutes which saw Châlons-Reims try to come back, even dropping below the bar of ten lengths behind. Nevertheless, the Monegasques put in a final boost to secure victory after a spectacular encounter (90-107). With this 19th victory, ASM regains the same title as Boulogne-Levallois. The CCRB, beaten for the seventh time in a row, finds itself in the red lantern with one victory less than Fos-sur-Mer.
