Switzerland held the first Eurovision Song Contest in 1956, a competition they won. Lys Assia won the first competition with the song “Refrain”, only in 1988 did Switzerland win the competition again. At the Dublin contest, it was Celine Dion’s “Ne partez pas sans moi” that beat the United Kingdom to victory by just 1 point. In 2021, Switzerland took 3rd place with Gjon’s Tears. This was Switzerland’s first top three result since 1993.
